Japan Gekidan Symphony Orchestra to hold "Anime Symphonia," a full orchestra concert of anime music, on July 20!　Members of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and NHK Symphony Orchestra will participate.

The Japan Gekitan Symphony Orchestra will hold its concert "Anime Symphonia" at Bunkamura Orchard Hall on July 20.

This is the first full orchestra concert of anime music by the Japan Gekitan Symphony Orchestra, a general incorporated association established on November 11, 2014 as a professional orchestra with the concept of performing mainly dramatic accompaniment music for films, dramas, and other visual works. The idea was to "promote the quality of live music performed by live instruments by taking attractive content that is interesting to the younger generation and performing it with a full orchestra of live instruments". The full orchestra will perform some of Japan's most famous anime music masterpieces, including works from the "The Giants of Progress" original soundtrack.

As of now, Kazumasa Watanabe, conductor of the Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and a regular collaborator with the NHK Symphony Orchestra, will participate as conductor, and Takashi Nagamine, principal second violin of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, will participate as concertmaster. Takashi Nagamine, who is currently the principal second violinist of the NHK Symphony Orchestra, will join the NHK Symphony Orchestra as concertmaster. Many members of the NHK Symphony Orchestra will appear in the orchestra. In addition, "well-known guest singers and presenters who represent the world of anime" are also scheduled to appear.
