Hana to Alice Murder Case" Announces New Visuals and Staff! First feature-length animated film by Shunji Iwai

The poster visual and staff have been announced for the animated film "The Murder of Hana and Alice," which will be released on February 20.



This is an animated film that is a prequel to "Hana to Alice," which was released in 2004 as a live-action film written, scripted, and directed by Shunji Iwai. This is Shunji Iwai's first feature-length animated film, and the original story, script, music, and direction are by Iwai himself. In addition, actresses Yu Aoi and Anne Suzuki, who appeared in "Hana to Alice," will participate as voice actors for the roles of Alice and Hana. The recording was done using the prescoring method (recording the voices first, rather than matching them to the pictures), and their performances as voice actors are also attracting attention. The story is about the encounter between Alice, the strongest transfer student in history, and Hana, the strongest shut-in in history.

The poster visual and staff have now been unveiled. The visual depicts Alice, who has just transferred to a new school and stands dignified in a blazer different from the others, and Hana, who has not been attending school, against the background of the junior high school that Hana and Alice attend. The staff includes Yuhei Sakuragi, animator of "009 RE: CYBORG," as CG director; Haruko Kuno, award-winning director of rotoscoped animation for "Airy Me"; Yumiko Katayama, color designer for "Jin-Roh JIN-ROH" and "Eden of the East"; art director for " The live-action cinematographer is Chiki Kobe, who directed "I Have to Buy New Shoes.


In addition, Shoko Aida plays Alice's mother, Sei Hiraizumi plays her father, Midoriko Kimura plays Hana's mother, and Tae Kimura plays the ballet school teacher, all in the same roles as in "Hana to Alice.
