Live-action PATLABOR, Chapter 7 (the final chapter), unveiled in theaters!　I.G. re-creates "Pat 2" recollections, narration by Michihiro Ikemizu

THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR", the live-action version of the classic anime "Mobile Police Patlabor", has unveiled its 7th (final) chapter.

The film is also notable for the total production cost of 2.2 billion yen, including the 8-meter-long, life-size Type 98 Ingram and the Section 2 building with its own Laberdog, which were fully materialized. The seventh and final chapter ("The Great Legacy") has been screened since January 10, 2015.

To commemorate the release of Chapter 7, footage from Episode 12, "The Great Legacy," has been released. The video shows a country in Southeast Asia where dark clouds are gathering. It opens with a scene in which a unit led by Gyoto Tsuge is destroyed. The film then moves on to scenes looking back on the "phantom coup" depicted in the animated film "Mobile Police Patlabor 2 the movie," including the explosion of the Yokohama Bay Bridge, a tank squad driving through Ginza, and the members of the first Special Vehicle Section 2. The narration for this video, which was produced by Production I.G. for the film, is provided by Michihiro Ikemizu (who played and narrated the role of Isao Ota, a member of the Special Vehicle Division 2 in the anime version). Shinobu Nagumo, the first platoon leader of the first generation Special Vehicle Section 2, also makes a reappearance in the film, making it a must-see for fans of the anime version.
