<Story
One day, food writer Michael Booth, who was undergoing serious culinary training at a prestigious culinary school in Paris for a story he was covering, comes across a book on Japanese cuisine and is completely fascinated by it. Michael, who needed to taste the real thing for himself, impulsively hopped on a plane to Japan with his wife Lisn and their two children, Asgar and Emil.
On their first night in Japan, they head for Shinjuku's "Omoide Yokocho". There, Michael bites into his first "yakisoba" (fried noodle), which tastes like a "blanched worm," and thinks to himself, "I'm addicted to this flavor.... He was overwhelmed by the scale of chanko at a sumo wrestling parlor, addicted to the texture of crab in Hokkaido, and shocked by the umami taste of dashi broth at a high-end restaurant.
Saba sushi, tofu, okonomiyaki, takoyaki, ramen, wasabi, soy sauce, miso, sake... The British family devours every Japanese dish and ingredient!
