Dark fantasy novel "Overlord" to be adapted into TV anime! Satoshi Hino and other cast members are the same as in the drama CD

The TV anime adaptation of "Overlord" has been announced.


Overlord" is a fantasy novel by Kugane Maruyama that has sold over 400,000 copies. Set in the online game "Yggdrasil," which caused a huge boom but is no longer available, "Overlord" is a dark fantasy depicting a lonely boy who loves playing games in the real world, becoming the strongest wizard and leading his guild to fight against NPCs who have suddenly started to have their own will and an unfamiliar other world that spreads outside the guild. The dark fantasy story depicts a lonely boy who becomes the most powerful wizard and leads his guild to confront NPCs who suddenly have a will of their own, as well as a strange world outside the guild.

The TV anime version features the same cast as the drama CD that came with the special edition of the original novel. Momonga is played by Satoshi Hino, Albedo by Yumi Hara, Aura by Emiri Kato, Mare Bello Fiore by Yumi Uchiyama, Chartier Bloodfall by Sumire Uesaka, Cocytus by Kenta Miyake, Demiurgos by Masayuki Kato, Sebas Chan by Shigeru Chiba, and Nervous Gamma Nervous Gamma is played by Aimi Numakura.


The full details, including the production staff, will be revealed on stage at Anime Japan 2015 (March 21-22 at Tokyo Big Sight). The event will be held on the GREEN Stage (Program 6) from 17:00 to 17:35 on the 22nd. Guests will be Satoshi Hino, Yumi Hara, Emiri Kato, Yumi Uchiyama, and Sumire Uesaka.
