Manga artist Masakazu Katsura to appear as a guest voice actor in the TV anime "GARO: The Mark of Fire! He plays an important character with lots of lines.
Manga artist Masakazu Katsura will appear as a guest voice actor in the currently airing TV anime "GARO: The Mark of Fire.
GARO" is the first anime series of the adult-oriented special effects series "GARO," which has aired a total of four series since 2005. While continuing the worldview of the series, a completely new storyline is being developed. Directed by Yuichiro Hayashi, this is his first work as a director. The series is composed and written by Yasuko Kobayashi of "Shinkage no Kyojin" fame, and produced by MAPPA and Tohokushinsha.
The series entered its second season on January 9, and it was discovered that manga artist Masakazu Katsura appeared as a guest voice actor in the 15th episode, "Craftsman PROJECT G," which will be broadcast on January 23. Katsura, known for his work in "Wingman," "Denei Shoujo," "I "s" and "ZETMAN," was asked to appear in the episode by Keita Amemiya, the author of the "GARO" series and a former acquaintance from the same art school, who "forcefully and recklessly" asked Katsura to appear. The director, who is a big fan of Katsura, was delighted when he received the news.
In episode 15, "Craftsman PROJECT G," Julio (voice: Yamaguchi Kappei), a young weapons craftsman who lost his master Jordi in episode 6, makes a return appearance. In this episode, the craftsmen of the town gather around him and struggle to complete the legendary armor of the "Knight of Light. Katsura plays the role of Bruno, an optician who is one of the veteran craftsmen and who, because of his small stature and natural athleticism, ends up wearing the legendary armor himself. Although he is a guest, he plays an important role and has many lines throughout the film.
The recording took place at the end of November last year. Katsura visited the recording site on time, but the size of the role and the amount of dialogue made him nervous. This is not a role for an amateur. (smiles)," she said as she worked on postrecording with a serious expression on her face. Daisuke Namikawa, a main cast member, played the role of Jin in "ZETMAN" and Katsuhito Nomura played the role of Kazutaka Seto in "I's Pure.
In the end, the performance was so enthusiastic that even the director and sound director praised it. However, the actor himself did not feel confident in his performance, saying, "Of course, it is natural, but professional voice actors are amazing. I felt it all over again this time. I did my best, but I'm worried about whether my performance will be too much. After the recording, he left a piece of colored paper with the word "reckless" written on it. However, it is true that Bruno's performance was well received by the staff who were present during the postrecording, and his activities and good performance in the play are a must-see. Episode 15 will be broadcast on TV Tokyo starting at 1:23 am on January 23, followed by TV Osaka, TV Aichi, Star Channel, Family Theater, etc.
