Crucial's new BX100 SSD is now available! 120GB/250GB/500GB/1TB

Crucial's new SSD "BX100" is now on sale at PC House Toei and Toei Land. The products on sale are parallel imports.


The BX100 is a 7mm thick 2.5-inch SSD that supports SATA 6Gbps and is available in four capacities: 120GB, 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB.

The onboard controller is Silicon Motion's SM2246EN, and the NAND flash uses the company's 16nm MLC manufacturing process. Read speed is 535MB/sec common to all models, and write speeds are 185MB/sec, 370MB/sec, and 450MB/sec (same for the 1TB model) in order of capacity. Random performance is 87,000 IOPS (120GB/250GB models) and 90,000 IOPS (500GB/1TB) for read and 43,000 IOPS (120GB) and 70,000 IOPS (250GB/500GB/1TB) for write.

The endurance is 72 TBW of total write bytes, which is equivalent to 5 years at 40 GB of write capacity per day. 1.5 million hours MTTF.

In addition to the 2.5-inch version, the BX100 series is also available in mSATA and M.2 formats, but the timing of their release has not yet been determined.
