Animation film "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection "F"" to be screened in IMAX 3D for the first time in Japanese film history! Nationwide from Hokkaido to Kyushu
The animated film "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" will be released on April 18, 2015, and will be the first Japanese film ever to be screened in IMAX 3D at an IMAX digital theater.
Following "Dragon Ball Z: Gods and Gods," which was released in March 2013 as the first theatrical version in 17 years, this is the 19th theatrical Dragon Ball film. It is a sequel to the previous "Gods and Gods," and is also attracting attention because the original author, Akira Toriyama, himself is in charge of the screenplay. The director is Naoki Yamamuro, a long-time animation director for the series, who participated in the previous film as the chief animation director. The cast includes Masako Nozawa, Ryusei Nakao, Koichi Yamadera, Seiichi Morita, Ryo Horikawa, Shoji Sato, Hiromi Tsuru, Mayumi Tanaka, Toshio Furukawa, Takeshi Kusao, Hikaru Midorikawa, and Yuko Minaguchi. The theme song is sung by the idol unit Momoiro Clover Z.
The film will be screened in IMAX 3D at the IMAX Digital Theater. In the past, IMAX has screened blockbusters such as "Avatar" and "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2," and the previous Japanese film "Dragon Ball Z: Gods and Gods" IMAX version, released on March 30, 2013, was the first IMAX digital theater screening. 2015, The IMAX 3D version of "Dragon Ball" is the first Japanese film ever to be screened in an IMAX 3D theater. Akira Toriyama himself has praised the film for its "tremendous battles" and the powerful battle action scenes will be experienced with even more realistic images.
