Thank You 45th Anniversary! Minna no Sazae-san Exhibition" opens at the Tokyo venue on February 4! The exhibition will be held at the main Mitsukoshi Nihombashi store until February 16.

The Tokyo venue of the "Thank You 45th Anniversary! Minna no Sazae-san Exhibition" opened at the Tokyo venue on February 4. The exhibition will run until February 16.


This is the first national traveling exhibition of "Sazae-san," a nationally popular animation series that was recognized by Guinness World Records as the "longest-running TV animation program. Commemorating the 45th anniversary of the broadcast of "Sazae-san" in October 2014, the exhibition will tour more than 30 locations in various cities across Japan for about two years, starting with the Miyagi venue on October 16, 2013.

At the exhibition, episodes related to "Sazae-san" and secret broadcast stories will be introduced, as well as the "Asahigaoka Shopping Street," which recreates the streets of the city, "Welcome to the Isono Family! a "Hanazawa Real Estate" where visitors can build a miniature house of their own design on a diorama of Asahigaoka, and "Sazae-san Theater" where visitors can watch the full version of the memorable first broadcast of the show. In addition, limited-edition goods will be available for sale at the venue. In particular, the "Sazae-san Chopstick Rests Set," a new product produced in limited quantities in collaboration with Kutani Yaki Seikagama, which has been in existence since the early Taisho period, is a beautiful gem that combines the pattern of the Sazae-san family marching with the traditional Kutani Yaki pattern.


Hours are from 10:00 to 19:00 (*18:30 on the 15th and 17:00 on the 16th). Admission is 800 yen for adults and university students (600 yen in advance), 400 yen for elementary, junior high and high school students (300 yen in advance), and free for children under elementary school age. Visitors on weekdays will receive a character bookmark as a free gift.
