LiveWedge, Cerevo's video switcher with live-streaming capabilities that can be operated with a tablet, is finally available!

Cerevo's "LiveWedge" video switcher with live-streaming capability is now available at Oriospec.

The "LiveWedge" is a video switcher and mixer with four full HD (1080/60p) HDMI inputs. It has five audio inputs, including one analog audio input (RCA jacks) in addition to HDMI. Switching and mixing of video and audio can be performed with a single unit.

Video and audio can be controlled via an app on an iPad connected via wireless LAN. Compared to a typical video mixer, the iPad has fewer knobs and buttons for operation, resulting in a simpler interface.

Another key feature of the device is its standalone HD video (720/30p) live-streaming capability, which allows users to stream to their own servers in addition to major services such as Ustream, Nico Nico Live Broadcast, and YouTube Live. It is said to have built-in functions comparable to those of the company's "LiveShell PRO," a dedicated live-streaming device.

In addition, an SD card slot is provided for incorporating images stored on an SD card as video material. The company also claims that an update to be provided at a later date will make it possible to incorporate video and audio material and record programmed-out video.

Maximum input/output resolution is 1080/60p. Main interfaces include 4 HDMI inputs (with built-in scaler and Embedded Audio support), 1 audio input (analog RCA), 1 Gigabit LAN, and wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n). Compatible tablets are iPad 2 or later/iPad mini/iPad Air (Android will be supported at a later date). The main unit measures 270 (W) x 41 (H) x 155 (D) mm and weighs approximately 1.1 kg.
