Crucial's new MX200 SSD with enhanced endurance is now available!　Successor to the M550, mSATA version also available!

Crucial's new MX200 SSD with greatly improved durability is now available in 2.5-inch (7mm thick) and mSATA versions.

The new MX200 is available in 5 products: 250GB, 500GB, and 1TB models in 2.5-inch versions, and 250GB and 500GB models in mSATA versions.

The MX200 is a SATA 6Gbps SSD, the successor to the company's higher-end M550 model. Sequential transfer rate and random performance are the same, with nominal transfer rate of 555MB/sec read and 500MB/sec write, and 4k random performance of 100,000 IOPS read and 87,000 IOPS write.

It also features greatly enhanced endurance. The total bytes written (TBW) has been increased by approximately 4.5 times from 72 TBW for the previous 1TB model to 320 TBW for the same capacity of the new model. Incidentally, the endurance of the lower capacities is just half that of the higher capacities, with the 500GB model at 160TBW and the 250GB model at 80TBW.

The controller is made by Marvell and the NAND flash is Micron's MLC with 16nm manufacturing process. The BX100 is a lower-priced model that uses a Silicon Motion controller and the company's 16nm MLC.

In addition, an M.2 version is also available in the series.
