Million Dolls" to be adapted into a TV anime in July! Realistic depiction of the reality surrounding idols from the viewpoints of the members, management, and fans

Million Doll" will be adapted into a TV anime, with 12 episodes airing from July.


Million Doll" is a popular web manga serialized on the new manga distribution service "GANMA! It has attracted attention for its realistic depiction of the realities surrounding idols, including the inner workings of idol management and the unique perspectives of the fans who support them, in addition to tracing the trajectory of idols' success.

The anime version is directed by Keiichiro Kawaguchi of "SKET DANCE" and "Life" fame, written by Momoko Murakami of the "Pretty Rhythm" series, and produced by Asahi Productions. Casting has yet to be determined. However, a theater performance by the voice actors at the AKIBA CULTURES THEATER (*July-September) has already been scheduled.


<Story.
Suuko, a reclusive home-based idol otaku, has only one skill. She is able to make female idols popular through the power of her blog alone. When Suuko's sister, an ordinary person, takes her out to a supermarket, she spots Itorio, a local idol from Itoshima City, Fukuoka Prefecture, performing there, and tries to promote him, but she is confronted by Ryusan, a charismatic figure in the idol scene, and Mariko, an underground idol whom Ryusan supports! The author "Ai," who is actually an idol geek, depicts an overly realistic idol group manga.
