Comment from Ubukata Tow (series composition)
The more you dig in Mr. Shirow's original work "Ghost in the Shell", the more you discover. The superb setting of the story, which takes place just before the nation is about to disappear. The skillful placement of the characters. The appeal of the cyborg and cyber-detective genre. I approached this script with the feeling that I had to visualize this brilliant original work, drawn a quarter of a century ago, not as a "classic" lying in a museum, but as a work for the modern age. In order to achieve this, it was necessary to depict the younger days of Motoko and the other members. The script for "Ghost in the Shell: ARISE ALTERNATIVE ARCHITECTURE" is a new TV series that reconstructs "border:1" to "border:4," which were shown in theaters by the end of last year, and adds new episodes. The series will begin with the "border:4" episode, in which the familiar members are all present, and will eventually reveal the reasons why the members who joined the Public Security Section 9 gathered together. In the final new episode, Pyromania, a follower of the "Fire Starter" virus, confronts Motoko Kusanagi. He has a completely different view of "individuality" than Motoko. When I decided to participate in this film, I wondered why the members of Section 9, who have strong personalities, would follow Motoko. I think they intuitively know that Motoko represents "the ideal in an age of chaos. In an age where nations and individuals are becoming increasingly parallel through the Internet, Motoko in this work is focused on the "individual. The light that this presence emits attracts people. The "New Movie" to be released in early summer will further explore the past and inner life of Motoko, who is at the center of the film. ARISE ALTERNATIVE ARCHITECTURE," which depicts the process of gathering the members of Public Security Section 9, has created a good flow for newcomers to the "Ghost in the Shell" series. We also hope that existing fans will enjoy it as the fourth "Ghost in the Shell" following the original story, the movie, and "S.A.C.".
