Live-action Patlabor, life-size Ingram participates in Tokyo Marathon!　Promoting the feature-length theatrical version of "Capital Decisive Battle

THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR" is a live-action version of the classic anime "Mobile Police Patlabor," and the Tokyo Marathon also decked out a life-size Ingram.

The film is also notable for its production cost of 2.2 billion yen, including the 8-meter-long, life-size Type 98 Ingram and the fully realized Section 2 building with its own Laberdog. The seventh and final chapter ("The Great Legacy") has been screened since January 10, 2015.

In preparation for the feature film "THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR: Capital Decisive Battle," which will be released in theaters on May 1, a life-size Ingram participated in the Tokyo Marathon held in Tokyo on February 22 as a guard and cheering section, decked out from 10:30 to 11:30 at Ginza Shochiku Square Square, where runners competed against each other. Ingram, holding up the words "Tokyo Kessen" (Battle for the Capital), gave a shout-out to the runners competing in the race. Below is the official report.

　With the Tokyo Marathon 2015 under heightened security measures due to the tense international terrorism situation, "THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR" also dispatched a Type 98 AV Ingram to provide some extra skin! For the first time ever, an 8-meter-long giant robot stood up for the Tokyo Marathon to provide security and cheer on the runners!
　The Tokyo Marathon 2015 started at 9:10 a.m. in light rain, and at the 35-km point, Ginza Shochiku Square Square, preparations were underway to deck up the full-size Ingram (8 meters long) used in the filming of "THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR: Capital Crisis" (to be released May 1). The giant robot in the middle of the city was being prepared. Since the giant robot was to appear in the middle of the city, a large crowd had gathered around Ingram even before he was decked out, and many people were taking commemorative photos.
　At 10:30, with the Ginza Shochiku Square building in the background, Ingram finally stood up. From Ingram's shoulder, he shouted, "Go! Runners. The battle begins here! and sends out a strong message to the runners.
　Before 11:00, the first runners reached the 35km mark. One after another, runners pass by Ingram's team. The first runners are quickly passing by, and the runners are cheering "7km to go to the finish line, the battle for the capital is just beginning! Ingram expressed his support with his sashes and conveyed this message with his whole body.
　Gradually, as the number of citizen runners began to increase, a runner suddenly stopped in front of Ingram, took out his camera, took a picture of Ingram, and gallantly ran away. This was the moment when Ingram's cheers certainly reached the hearts of the runners. She also cheered for the Tokyo Marathon's famous cosplay runners and others, giving the runners a boost!
　Citizens along the route also commented, "I think Ingram's support will encourage us to do our best for another 7 km," "It's reassuring," (a man in his 20s), and "It's like the Special Vehicle Section 2 to come out and guard the scene so well. I feel safe" (a woman in her 30s), and "The Japanese police are amazing" (a woman in her 60s), who said they looked just like the real thing.
　At 11:30 a.m., Ingram was decommissioned, leaving the runners and cheering citizens in mourning. Thanks to Ingram's efforts, the peace of the Tokyo Marathon 2015 was preserved!
