Razer has released the "Seiren," a USB microphone that touts its versatility.


Seiren is a USB microphone with four different recording patterns. It has three condenser capsules built into the body, and features a choice of directivity depending on the content to be recorded.

The recording patterns include "cardioid" for streaming/podcasting/dubbed voiceover/instruments, "stereo" for vocals/instruments, "omni-directional" for conference calls/events, and "bi-directional" for interviews/instruments/duet vocals. The "two-way" option for interview/instrumental/duet vocals is available, and can be switched instantly by turning a dedicated knob.

In addition, the main unit is equipped with a 3.5mm jack and a built-in headphone amplifier. Monitoring while recording is also possible.

The main specifications of the microphone section are as follows: sampling frequency and bit rate of 192 kHz/24-bit, frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz, and sensitivity of 4.5 mV/Pa (1 kHz). The main specifications of the headphone amplifier are impedance of 6Ω, power output (RMS) of 130mW, frequency response of 15Hz to 22KHz, and signal-to-noise ratio of 114dB.
