OVA "Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin I: Casval of the Blue Eyes" will be screened on February 28, and Shia comedians Numatchi and Funassyi appeared at the press preview. Numatchi and Funassyi held a press conference.

This is the first anime chapter of "Mobile Suit Gundam The Origin," a manga work by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer and animation director of the first Gundam that began broadcasting in 1979, which has sold a total of 10 million copies. Mr. Yasuhiko is back in the animation industry after a 25-year absence, and is in charge of general direction, character design, and storyboarding. The film depicts the story from the past of Char and Seira, to the beginning of the Zeon War of Independence, to which he is most attached. The film is directed by Takashi Imanishi ("Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 STARDUST MEMORY"), with mechanical design by Hajime Katoki ("Mobile Suit Gundam UC") and chief animation director Hiroyuki Nishimura ("Danboard Senki"). Highlights include a splendid cast including Mayumi Tanaka as the young Char, Megumi Ban as the young Seira, Akino Watanabe as Xilia Zabi, Miyuki Sawashiro as Claure Hamon, Chafu Rin as Zimba Ral, and Akio Otsuka as the narrator.

At the press preview held at the UDX Akiba Theater, the well-known comedian Numatchi, who is known for his impersonation of Char Aznable, took the stage with Ban Megumi, who plays the role of Artesia Som Daikun, and Fluffy. Ban Megumi
My name is Megumi Ban, and I play the role of Artisia Som Daikun. (Seeing Numachi dressed up as Char,) Who could fail to notice that you are Numachi, right? (laughs) He is a very friendly Char, and I am extremely honored to be participating for the first time in the Gundam series, which has been loved for 36 years. The most impressive scene is the parting scene with Astraia, Artesia's mother. I actually had to ad-lib this scene, which was not in the original work. When Guntank turns his back on his mother, he shouts, "Mother! I was talking with Ayumi Tsunematsu, who plays the role of Astrias, and the words just came out of my mouth. The parting scene left such a strong impression on me that I couldn't help but say those words. The role of Casbal Rem Daikun is played by Mayumi Tanaka, and I actually met Mayumi for the first time when I was around the age of Artesia in this movie. We happened to pass each other at a famous theme park in Chiba! I was called "Ban-chan" there, and the owner of that voice was Mayumi...
