A special trailer for the animated film "Tensai Bakavon: The Resurrected Dog of Flanders," which will be released in theaters on May 23, has been released.

Tensai Bakavon: A Dog of Flanders" is the first feature-length "Tensai Bakavon" film produced to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the birth of its original author, Fujio Akatsuka, who passed away on August 2 last year, the 7th anniversary of his death. FROGMAN of "The Secret Society Hawk's Nail" fame directs and writes the script, which combines two anime masterpieces, "Tensai Bakabon" and "A Dog of Flanders," in a battle. Production will be by DLE, with participation by FUJIO PRO, PIERO, and Nippon Animation as production collaborators. The story starts from the last scene of "A Dog of Flanders," which moved the whole country. However, Nero and Patrush shake off the hands of the angels and come back to the present day as pawns of evil, becoming demons of vengeance against those who have mistreated them and repeating their evil deeds. The Bakabon family takes up the challenge against them using their stupidity as a weapon.

A special report has been released this time. The opening theme song by Team Shachihoko, an idol group from Nagoya, was also unveiled. The youthful girls, all of whom were born in the Heisei Era and are currently high school students, cover the famous anime song "Tensai Bakabon" (Tensai Bakabon: Genius Bakabon), which is well-known for the song "The sun rises from the west", and the result is an up-tempo song with a sense of speed, while retaining the relaxed atmosphere of the original song. The character design was also unveiled, with the idol becoming the first Bakabon character to wear a belly roll, hachimaki, and steteko.
