Seagate "Archive HDD" series 6TB model "ST6000AS0002" is now available!

Seagate's 6TB HDD "ST6000AS0002" is now available.

The ST6000AS0002 is a SATA 6Gbps 3.5-inch HDD that belongs to the Archive HDD series for cloud storage, which supports 180TB per year and 24/7 workloads.

Speaking of the Archive HDD series, the 8TB HDD " ST8000AS0002 " was recently released, and the newly introduced model is a lower capacity model positioned below the 8TB model.

The basic specs are the same as the 8TB model. The interface is SATA 6Gps, rpm is 5900rpm, number of heads is 12, number of disks is 6, cache capacity is 128MB, average data transfer rate is 150MB/sec read/write, and maximum continuous data transfer rate is 190MB/sec read.

Incidentally, the unit price per GB is approximately 5.16 yen to 5.5 yen when calculated at the retail price including tax, and the unit price per GB is slightly higher than 8TB at 0.64 yen to 0.98 yen (at the time of writing).
