Pioneer's thin Blu-ray drive BDR-UD03 is now available! Software bundle also available

Pioneer has released the BDR-UD03, an internal slim drive that supports BDXL.


The BDR-UD03 is a thin Blu-ray drive (9.5 mm thick) in a bulk version. The loading method is tray. The interface is slim-line SATA, and the buffer capacity is 4MB.

Maximum write speeds are BD-R/-R DL 6x, BD-R TL/-R QL 4x, BD-RE/-RE DL/-RE TL 2x, DVD-R/+R 8x, DVD-R DL/+R DL 4x, DVD-RW 6x, DVD+RW 8x, DVD-RAM 5x, CD-R/-RW 24x. CD-R/-RW 24x speed.

Maximum read speeds are 6x BD-ROM, 8x DVD-ROM, and 24x CD-ROM.

A software bundle version with "/WS" at the end of the model number was also released at the same time. Included software is PowerDVD, Power2Go, and InstantBurn.
