Knights of Sidonia" is an anime work based on the science fiction manga by Tsutomu Nibei, who is known worldwide for "BLAME! It depicts a battle between the survivors of human beings traveling through space and Gauna, an interactive alien creature that destroys the solar system. Animation production was handled by Polygon Pictures. The film version will be a reconstruction of all 12 episodes of the TV series, with new cuts and sound effects added. The second TV anime season, "Knights of Sidonia: The Battle of the Ninth Planet," is scheduled to begin in April 2015.
