ASUS' RP-AC52 wireless LAN repeater with wireless LAN audio receiver function is scheduled to go on sale on March 5.

The "RP-AC52" is a wireless LAN repeater that relays wireless LAN signals to extend their range. It supports dual-band (5GHz/2.4GHz), and can use IEEE802.11ac/n/a at 5GHz and IEEE802.11n/g/b at 2.4GHz. The maximum transmission speed is 433 Mbps.

A unique feature is the wireless LAN audio receiver function. An analog audio output terminal (3.5mm mini) is provided for connection to active speakers, etc. By installing the dedicated DLNA-compatible music player application "ASUS AiPlayer" (iOS/Android compatible), FLAC/AAC/WAV up to 96kHz/24bit, MP3 files up to 44.1kHz/16bit can be played.

In addition to music playback, the device can also connect to Internet radio, which allows users to listen to overseas radio stations.

Other features include an LED indicator that shows the strength of the wireless LAN signal at a glance, a wireless LAN access point function that is useful when traveling, and an LED light function that illuminates the area around the unit for convenient nighttime use.

The interface is one 100BASE-TX, one 3.5mm mini-jack, and three antennas (one 5GHz transmitter/receiver and two 2.4GHz transmitters/receivers). Onboard memory: DDR2 64MB; onboard flash memory: 8MB; wireless LAN security functions: WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK, and WEP; installation method: direct insertion into the cocent.
