Live-action Patlabor unveils poster visual for feature-length theatrical version of "Capital Battles!　Nippon becomes a battlefield."

THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR, a live-action version of the classic anime "Mobile Police Patlabor," has unveiled a poster visual for the feature-length theatrical version to be released on May 1.

→Live-action Patlabor, seven chapters will be screened at events starting in April 2014! Completely original new "THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR".

The film, which has attracted attention for its total production cost of 2.2 billion yen, including the 8-meter-long life-size Type 98 Ingram and the fully realized Section 2 building with its own Laberdog, will be released sequentially from Chapter 1 (Episodes 0-1) on April 5, with the final Chapter 7 (Episode 12 "The Greatest Legacy") to be screened from January 10, 2015. The seventh and final chapter ("The Great Legacy") has been screened since January 10, 2015.

The poster visual for the feature film "THE NEXT GENERATION PATLABOR: Capital Decisive Battle," which will be released on May 1, has been unveiled. Against a background of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and Rainbow Bridge in flames, the visual is full of robotic action, with two Ingrams ready to defend the capital despite being battered and bruised, holding revolver cannons in a battle stance. In addition, while the cast of Special Vehicle Section 2, including Toshio Kakei and Erina Mano, are all present, there is also a new appearance by Kotaro Yoshida, who has appeared in many hit movies as a great motorcycle player. The catch copy of the film is "Nippon becomes a battlefield." Expectations are high for the release of the film to see how the Special Vehicle Division 2 will confront a terrorist group with stealth armed helicopters.
