Mobile Suit V Gundam" to be released as a BD-BOX in two volumes! Yoshiyuki Tomino: "I want to deny this work altogether" and "Look for what's wrong with it."

The TV anime "Mobile Suit V Gundam" will be released on Blu-ray in two BD-BOX volumes.

This work, the last "Space Century Gundam" TV series by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creator of Gundam, was broadcast from April 1993 to March 1994, and depicts a boy named Uso, one of the series' youngest protagonists (13 years old), as he grows up while facing the absurd reality of war, It is also known to be extremely divided among Gundam fans due to its depiction of nationalism and cruelty against the backdrop of religion.

The BD-BOX release will feature HD telecine and HD remastering using new master positive film, the first audio commentary (4 episodes per volume), newly drawn box art and inner jacket, a 60-page booklet with interviews with staff members, and many rare art manuscripts. A 56-page illustration book containing many valuable art manuscripts will be enclosed. Volume 2 also includes video extras such as a collection of famous scenes (re-recorded) and the reality of the eye catcher (re-recorded).

Volume 1 will be released on July 24 with episodes 1 through 26, and volume 2 will be released on September 25 with episodes 27 through 51. Each will be priced at 34,000 yen plus tax.

Comment from Yoshiyuki Tomino (general director)
Please find what is wrong with it.
This work is something I want to deny everything. The director is entirely responsible for this outcome. If by some mistake you have seen this on Blu-ray, please look for what is wrong with "Mobile Suit V Gundam". If there is even one person who can recognize it from this, I believe it will be meaningful to release it as a Blu-ray.
