Animated film "YAMUSUME PEDAL THE MOVIE" to be released in the summer of 2015!　Scenario written by the original author, Wataru Watanabe

It was announced that a completely new movie version of the TV anime "Yowamushi Pedal" will be released in the summer of 2015.

The anime "Yowamushi Pedal" is based on the manga by Wataru Watanabe, which is serialized in Weekly Shonen Champion. It is a sports story about an otaku boy who enters the world of cycling after meeting his friends and aims for the Inter-High School Championships. The first season was broadcast over a three-cour period and gained high popularity as a dark horse. In September 2014, a newly edited version of the Inter High Arc, "Weak Pedal Re:RIDE," was shown in theaters for two weeks only, and the second TV anime season, "Weak Pedal GRANDE ROAD," began airing in October.

This time, the first feature film "YAMUSUME PEDAL THE MOVIE", a completely new work, will be released in the summer of 2015. The scenario was newly written by Wataru Watanabe, the author of the original story, and will surely satisfy fans of the original story. The visual released today depicts the Sohoku climber duo of Sakamichi Onoda, the main character, and Yusuke Makishima, his senior.

For me, each episode of "Weak Pedal" is filled with a lot of feelings. When the project started, I was not sure if I would be able to do it, but thanks to the support of my seniors and the staff, I was able to make it to the second season and the remaining two episodes. I cannot thank you all enough for your support. Now that the movie version has been decided, I am very happy to be able to play the role of Sakamichi-kun again.
