New cast announced for the second season of the TV anime "Assassination Classroom!　Mamoru Miyano as Gakuhide Asano and Kenta Miyake as Akira Takaoka

The TV anime "Assassination Classroom," currently airing on Fuji Television Network, will begin its second season in April, and information about the new cast, theme song, and other details have been revealed.

Assassination Classroom" is an anime work based on the manga (serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump) by Yuuki Matsui of "Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro" fame. The comics have sold a total of more than 13.5 million copies and are very popular. It depicts a year in the life of "Kakushi Sensei," who has Mach 20 speed and enormous power and is the homeroom teacher of "End no E class," a failing class of third graders in junior high school, although he declares that he will destroy the earth, and his students who challenge "Kakushi Sensei assassination mission" in order to save the earth. A live-action movie version of the series was also released on March 21, creating a "Assassination Classroom" fever this spring.

In the second season, starting in April, the school's elite students, led by Gakushu Asano, the chancellor's only son, and Akira Takaoka, a new physical education teacher dispatched by the Ministry of Defense's special operations division, will make their appearances. The cast includes Mamoru Miyano as Gakushu Asano and Kenta Miyake as Akira Takaoka. The character sketches for each of them have also been announced.

The opening theme will be changed in April, with lyrics by Seiko Fujibayashi and music composed and arranged by Shuhei Naruse. The song will be sung by the "3NE E group song carriers (Nagisa, Chino, Gyo, Isogai, and Maehara)" as in the first school year. Details will be announced at a later date.

Please note that the airing time of "Assassination Classroom" will be changed to 24:55 on Fridays (currently 25:20) starting April 10 (Fri.) on Fuji Television Network.

In addition, the first volume of "Assassination Classroom" Blu-ray & DVD will be released on March 27 (Fri.). To commemorate the release, a special program on "Assassination Classroom" will be broadcast on Nico Nico Live. Please check it out as well.
