TAAF 2015 Announces "Animation of the Year Category. The Grand Prix went to "Anna and the Snow Queen" (Theatrical Film category) and "Ping Pong" (Television category)

The Grand Prix film and the excellent film in the TAAF 2015 "Animation of the Year Category" were announced at the Tokyo Anime Awards Festival (TAAF) 2015 awards ceremony held on Sunday, March 22, 2015.

The Grand Prix in the Theatrical Film Division was awarded to Disney's "Anna and the Snow Queen. The Award of Excellence went to "STAND BY ME Doraemon". In the TV category, the Grand Prix went to "Ping Pong THE ANIMATION". The Excellence Award went to "YOKAI WATCH. In addition, "TIGER & BUNNY the Movie -The Rising-" was selected as the winner of the Anime Fan Award, which is voted for by the general public.


TAAF is an international animation film festival that aims to promote the emergence of animation, and this year's "TAAF2015" was held from Thursday, March 19 to Monday, March 23, mainly at TOHO Cinemas Nihonbashi. The "Animation of the Year" category is based on the previous commercial films screened or broadcast in Japan during the past year (November 1, 2013 to October 31, 2014), and was voted on by a total of 100 members of the Japan Animation Association and leading animation producers in Japan from their professional viewpoints, and was strictly selected first.
