Toshiba's SD-R008GR7AL03A, an 8GB model of its FlashAir III (W-03) SD card with wireless LAN, which allows users to upload photos directly to the Internet via a wireless LAN router, is now available.
Like the 16GB model 'SD-R016GR7AL03A' and 32GB model 'SD-R032GR7AL03A' that we reported on in February, the new model is also packaged overseas.
The "FlashAir III" is the third generation model in the "FlashAir" series of wireless LAN-equipped SD cards that can wirelessly transfer photos and videos taken with digital cameras and other devices to PCs, smartphones, and tablets. It features a new "Internet pass-through" function that allows files to be uploaded directly to the Internet via a wireless LAN router without having to transfer the files to a device such as a smartphone or tablet.
The main specifications include an SD speed class of Class 10 and wireless LAN encryption methods of WEP, TKIP, and AES (WPA/WPA2).
It should be noted that the package states "This is a product for a specific overseas country/region, and support in Japan is not available.
