Mamoru Oshii Film Festival 2015, Part 3: "Maniac" Edition!　Guests are Toshio Furukawa and Shigeru Chiba!

The third installment of the all-night screening event "Mamoru Oshii Film Festival 2015" has been announced.

This is a series of all-night screenings of Mamoru Oshii's best-known animated and live-action films. Following the first "Mobile Police Patlabor " and second "Ghost in the Shell" editions, the "Maniac" edition will be held on April 25, the beginning of the Golden Week holidays.

The four films to be screened are "Red Glasses," Mamoru Oshii's first live-action film starring Shigeru Chiba, "Twilight Q: Labyrinth Property FILE 538," an absurd OVA featuring an experimental style, "Maroko," a theatrical animation starring Toshio Furukawa and directed by Shigeru Chiba, and the VFX film "Avalon" shot entirely on location in Poland. Guests will be veteran voice actors Toshio Furukawa and Shigeru Chiba, who supported the popular series "Urusei Yatsura" and "Mobile Police Patlabor," who will talk about the director's personality and unknown directing techniques. Incidentally, "Red Spectacles" will be screened in a French subtitled version, which was prepared for the Cannes Film Festival but had to be put on hold for various reasons. This will be the first time the film has been screened since its debut at the 30th anniversary of KINECA Omori last spring.
