Akiba Spill] USB 3.1 (Type-C) cables are on sale at a special price before the release of compatible devices.

Akiba Spilling Story" is an irregular series of articles introducing PC parts and digital gadgets that the Akiba Research Institute staff found interesting during interviews.

USB 3.1 CTYPE 100CM , a 100cm long USB 3.1 (Type-A) to USB 3.1 (Type-C) cable that supports the latest USB 3.1 standard, is now on sale at Toei Land and PC House Toei at a special price.

USB 3.1 is a new USB standard that achieves a transfer rate of 10Gbps (theoretical value), which is twice that of USB 3.0, and a maximum power supply capacity of 100W. In addition, the new Type-C connector standard, which is also used in new MacBooks and other devices, allows USB connectors to be plugged in either front or back, improving ease of use.

Incidentally, although motherboards with USB 3.1 ports have been released, devices with Type-C connectors have not been released yet, so if you are worried that USB 3.1 (Type-C) compatible devices will be released at once and cables will be sold out (or not), why not get just the cable first? Why don't you just get the cable first?

T
he price is 800 yen (tax included).
