The DN-12898, a compact portable headphone amplifier with built-in small vacuum tubes, is now on sale at Shanghai Inquirer Akihabara Store (Dospara Parts Building 3F).




The DN-12898 is a portable headphone amplifier equipped with two JAN 6418 (RAYTHEON) compact vacuum tubes that generate almost no heat. The MUSES 8820 is used as the operational amplifier, and the company claims that the sound is "straightforward without any peculiarities" (the company).

The interface consists of one headphone output and two audio inputs (stereo mini jack), but the two audio inputs are not exclusive, so if audio is input from both, both sounds will be output to the headphone jack.

The main specifications are 7.8 (W) x 12.5 (D) x 1.6 (H) cm, weighing approximately 150 g. The output power is 180 mW (16Ω Loaded)/22 mW (300Ω Loaded). The headphone impedance is 16 to 300Ω, the signal-to-noise ratio is 80dB, the playback frequency range is 10Hz to 65KHz, the charging time is about 8 hours, and the playback time is about 16 to 18 hours.
