Akiba Spill] "SCANIFY," a camera-type 3D scanner that can easily capture data, is now available for order.
Akiba Koho" is an irregular series of articles introducing PC parts and digital gadgets that the Akiba Research Institute staff found interesting during interviews.
Oriospec is now selling Fuel3D "SCANIFY", a camera-type 3D scanner that can easily scan 3D data just by connecting it to a PC.
SCANIFY" is a USB-connected 3D scanner that outputs 3D data by combining 3D data captured by two cameras mounted at different angles and photometric data such as color and texture measured by three high-power light sources.
S ince the scanner was originally designed as a medical 3D scanner (for human subjects), it is suitable for scanning organic objects (human body, animals, plants, etc.), stone structures, fabrics, etc. On the contrary, it is not suitable for scanning reflective objects, monochromatic or featureless objects (walls, etc.), and projections (pencils, etc.).
T he main specifications are as follows: body size: 255 (W) x 245 (D) x 35 (H) mm, weight: 520 g, connection interface: USB 2.0, power supply: included AC adapter or dedicated battery (sold separately). Scanning functions include: scanning volume: 35 cm, 3D resolution: up to 0.25 mm, maximum data error value: 2.50 mm, average data error value: 0.30 mm. 3D data output formats are OBJ, STL, and PLY.
T he product lineup consists of two models: the "SCANIFY Standard Pack," which includes the scanner, AC adapter, pointer, USB cable, and imaging software, and the "SCANIFY Full Pack," which adds a dedicated soft case, battery, and compositing software to the Standard Pack. The "SCANIFY Standard Pack" includes a USB cable and software.
The "SCANIFY Standard Pack" is priced at 240,000 yen (excluding tax) and the "SCANIFY Full Pack" at 300,000 yen (excluding tax), with a delivery time of 3 to 4 days.
I was shown how 3D data is actually created at OrioSpec's storefront, and was a bit surprised at how easy it is to create 3D data, just like taking a picture with a digital camera. I was a bit surprised at how easy it is to create 3D data, just like taking a photo with a digital camera. It is quite a courageous product for an individual to purchase, but if you are interested, why don't you visit the store?
