Mobile Suit V Gundam" unveils BD-BOX vol. 1 box illustration drawn by Hajime Katoki! Also, the first TV commercial!

An illustration of the first volume of the BD-BOX of the TV anime "Mobile Suit V Gundam," which will be released on July 24, has been revealed.

Mobile Suit V Gundam", the last "Space Century Gundam" TV series by Yoshiyuki Tomino, the creator of Gundam, was broadcast from April 1993 to March 1994, and depicts Uso, a 13-year-old boy who is one of the youngest main characters in the series, growing up while facing the absurd reality of war. The series is known to have an extremely divided reputation among Gundam fans, partly because of its depiction of nationalism and cruelty against a religious background.

The first volume of the BD-BOX, which will be released on July 24 and will include episodes 1 through 26, has been unveiled with a newly-drawn illustration. The illustration is by Hajime Katoki and will be used as the cover of the box. The first TV commercial (http://www.v-gundam.net/) with narration by Daisuke Sakaguchi, who plays the main character Uso Evin, has also been released.

The second volume will be released on September 25, 2011, containing episodes 27-51. Each will be priced at 34,000 yen plus tax.
