Chapter 2 of "Initial D" with Gum Tape Death Match Trailer Unleashed!　Theme song by BACK-ON is also released!

The trailer and theme song for the animated film "Initial D Legend 2: Fighting Race," which will be released in theaters on May 23, have been unveiled.

Initial D" is an anime film based on the popular manga (author: Shuichi Shigeno), which was serialized in Weekly Young Magazine from 1995 to 2013 and has sold 48.6 million copies in its 48 volumes. The main character, who has the mark of a "young leaf," drives his father's old Hachi Roku (AE86 Sprinter Treno), which is owned by his father who runs a tofu shop, and engages in heated public road battles with other drivers from all over the country with his amazing drift driving... The story is told in four TV series from 1998 to 2012, plus one movie version, plus several OVAs. The series was a huge hit from 1998 to 2012, with four TV series, one theater version, and several OVAs produced. The new film version is produced by Sanzigen and Raidenfilm, which are known for their CG production techniques, and all the sounds of the cars in the film are reproduced by professional racing drivers. In addition, the cast has been completely renewed, and the film depicts the battle between the "Rotary Takahashi Brothers" (older brother Ryosuke: FC3S RX-7, younger brother Keisuke: FD3S RX-7), who claim to be the fastest in the Gunma area, and the main character Takumi Fujiwara, in a trilogy of three parts.

A trailer has now been completed. In addition to the battle with the R32 GT-R driven by Takeshi Nakazato, the number one Myogi Night Kids driver, the trailer also features footage of a duct tape death match (i.e., a battle in which the driver's right hand is tied to the steering wheel with duct tape) with the number two driver, Shingo Shoji's EG6 Civic. The theme song is BACK-ON's "Resurrection," a song that will make Nakazato's "blood boil.

I am very honored to be in charge of the theme song for "Initial D Legend 2"! The members of the band love to read and I myself am from the generation of car and motorcycle racers, so it was a lot of fun to construct the music. The lyrics are inspired by the image of "Resurrection of a hero (Resurrection)," and in terms of sound, I tried to express "speed," "sadness in a sense of frustration," and "a sense of battle. I hope you will enjoy listening to "Resurrection" along with the movie!
