Chapter 2 of "Initial D" arrives with voice actor comments! Junichi Suwabe: "I'm a Skyline owner (Hakosuka) myself.

Voice actor comments have arrived from the animated film "Initial D Legend 2: Fighting Race," which will be released in theaters on May 23.

Initial D" is an anime based on the popular manga (author: Shuichi Shigeno), which was serialized in Weekly Young Magazine from 1995 to 2013 and has sold 48.6 million copies in 48 volumes. The main character, who has the mark of a "young leaf," drives his father's old Hachi Roku (AE86 Sprinter Treno), which is owned by his father who runs a tofu shop, and engages in heated public road battles with other drivers from all over the country with his amazing drift driving... The story is told in four TV series from 1998 to 2012, plus one movie version, plus several OVAs. The series was a huge hit, with four TV series, one film version, and several OVAs produced between 1998 and 2012. The new film version is produced by Sanzigen and Raidenfilm, which are known for their CG production techniques, and all the sounds of the cars in the film are reproduced by professional racing drivers. In addition, the cast has been completely renewed and the film depicts the battle between the "Rotary Takahashi Brothers" (Ryosuke: FC3S RX-7 / Keisuke: FD3S RX-7), who claim to be the fastest in the Gunma area, and Takumi Fujiwara, the main character, in a three-part series.

Voice actor comments from the recording studio have now arrived. Junichi Suwabe, who plays Tsuyoshi Nakazato, who fights Takumi in the second chapter, and Shuhei Sakaguchi, who plays Shingo Shoji, also talk about their impressions of their roles and the highlights of the film.

<Common Questions
1. How do you feel after finishing the recording of "Legend2 - Toushi"?
2. What are your impressions of the characters you play? (Did you discover anything new about each character based on the previous film?)
Please tell us what you would like us to pay attention to in "Legend 2" (the second theatrical version).
4. Please give a message to those who are looking forward to the theatrical release on May 23.

Mamoru Miyano / Takumi Fujiwara
1. As this is the second theater version, our teamwork has increased considerably, and while there was a friendly atmosphere, we were very focused on the production. The recording session was very realistic, as there were new characters and many heated battles. I will never forget the exhilarating feeling I had after the recording was over, as if I had actually finished the battle!
2. This time, there are two big battles that will shake Takumi's heart! Takumi seems to be calm and collected, but I believe that you can catch a glimpse of his deepest feelings in this work. His feelings for his friends, his feelings for cars, his feelings for "running"... Takumi is still a very immature boy, and we hope you will feel his sensitive growth!
3. As I mentioned earlier, there are two major battles. Takeshi Nakazato and Shingo Shoji's battles are completely different, which is why they each leave something different in Takumi's heart. We are looking forward to seeing what kind of battles will unfold! Ah! Also, for the boys, the important, important image scene of Natsuki! We had a lot of fun on the spot here... but this is already... a big attention-getter! (Laughs)
4. Thank you very much for your constant support. I have talked about many things, but seeing is believing... I hope you will watch "Legend2" that we, the cast and staff, have created with our passion and enthusiasm! The visuals are also quite amazing, with beautifully moving characters and powerful battles on the screen, so we are sure that you will be satisfied. Please come and see it in the theater. We are sure you will be satisfied with the movie.

Junichi Suwabe / Takeshi Nakazato
1. I never thought I would have the opportunity to play a scene that I read in the original story when it was serialized in a weekly magazine. It was a very exciting time for me. I am also a Skyline owner (Hakosuka), so I definitely wanted to win this competition.... It was so frustrating!
2. I think he was portrayed as a cool, calm, good-looking guy with a sense of a big shot. That was the order I was given for the performance direction as well. I had a strong impression of him as a "regrettable man who gets too passionate at the critical moment and makes a mistake," so it was quite difficult to correct my image (laughs).
3. For example, Mr. Nakazato's feet. For example, Mr. Nakazato's underfoot looked like a certain manufacturer's standard sneaker with a rolled-up heel sole. The width of the shoe is narrow, making it easy to operate the pedals, and I often wear them myself. As one would expect from a rider! Don't miss these small details!
4. Please enjoy the powerful battle on the big screen with good sound. I did my best to play the role, so please give me your best!

Yuichi Nakamura / Keisuke Takahashi
It was another intense recording. It was a pity that I couldn't record with Mr. Ono who plays Ryosuke, the role I work with the most, but I listened to the previously recorded voice and received detailed acting guidance during the post recording. It was very enjoyable.
2. I think I could sense that Keisuke has grown a little since his defeat in the previous episode, and I hope my performance was well received by the audience. I remember I was warned that my first performance was a little too gentle toward Takumi because it was a little "too much" for him. I remember I was warned that I was "a little too nice" to Takumi.
3. As mentioned above, Keisuke's "fighting spirit," running, and rivalry with Takumi have not yet faded. I don't know if I will be able to depict it in the future, but I believe that there are important scenes in the film as a first step to showcase Keisuke's new running skills again someday, and I hope you enjoy every bit of it.
4. Panda Treno will return to the screen again. I hope that you will enjoy the sound and images that you can only experience during the theatrical release. Although the car is the main character of this film, there is also a colorful human drama, so please enjoy it.

Daisuke Ono / Playing the role of Ryosuke Takahashi
1. It was a long day, but we were able to record in a good atmosphere as if the cast were playing each other's roles. I was really hot and sweaty during the race scene recording. I felt a pleasant sense of fatigue!
2. At first glance, Ryosuke looks cool, intelligent and nihilistic. But in his essence, he is a passionate soulful runner. This time, I felt a glimpse of him everywhere, which made me even more passionate myself.
3. Of course, there are the battles with Nakazato, his rival this time, and with Shingo. Through these two battles, Takumi's scribbler's spirit is awakened. I believe that the hearts of the viewers will also be moved by these battles.
4. How many rivals do people encounter in their lives? How many people do you meet in your life who clash with you, fight with you, and share their souls with you? Here is a hot competition that will move anyone's heart. Please watch it with your best friend!

Shuhei Sakaguchi / Playing the role of Shingo Shoji
To be honest, I was really tired... Physically, my neck and shoulders were really stiff, but mentally, I felt rather pleasant fatigue, and the combination of the two put me in a strange state of tension right after the recording. I drove to the studio that day to lift my spirits, but on the way back home I drove super safely.
2. In a word, he is a "jerk," but in the original story, he wears a Mugen T-shirt and has a side full of love for Honda. He is the most obvious and hateful character, and his words and actions are scum, but I hope you can forgive him a little for his love of Honda (cars), which is evident in the glimpse.
3. Initial D is all about the psychological portrayal of the drivers, the speed of the cars, and the thrill of the battles! Since it is being made to be seen on a huge screen in a theater, I am sure it will be very cool! I'm looking forward to seeing it!
4. I have always been a fan of Initial D. Just hearing the title of the movie, dry exhaust notes, roaring brakes, and screeching tires all come to mind. I would be happy if I could share these images with you through the theater screen. And while people are becoming less and less interested in cars these days, it would be great if this film makes people think again, "Cars are cool!

Dai Tsuchida / Playing the role of Koichiro Ikeya
1. It was a man festival, just like the last time we did the telerecording (laughs)!
2. If I had to describe Ikeya in one word, I thought again that it would be "kindness" in Legend2.
3. I would have to say the powerful racing scenes. The battles were even more powerful than in the previous episode!
4. The passion of each character for their machines! Please come and see it in the theater!

Minoru Shiraishi / Playing the role of Tatsuru Takeuchi
1. There are more battle scenes than in the previous film, and I felt that the film has come back with even more passion. Although the tree I play does not fight at all (laughs), we were all surprised by Takumi's technique and had a lot of fun during the recording.
2. As a friend, it is Tree who ignites Takumi's spirit and motivation, but this time, he not only does that, but also accepts Takumi as he becomes aware of his new feelings. In baseball, he is the catcher. I think he is starting to feel a bit like a wife, but he is not aware of it. I think she is a wonderful character.
3. From Awakening to Fighting Run. Takumi started to awaken as a runner, and his technique is getting more and more amazing. Also, new rivals appear this time, and the battle scenes with them are full of highlights. Of course, don't miss the friendship between Takumi and Tatsuru.
4. The hot runners are back. Their masculinity may have increased from the previous episode! Enjoy the fierce battles again this time. Drive safely on public roads!

Tomoyuki Shimura / Yuichi Tachibana
1. It was a very fun recording session, even though it was a bit of a hard time for all the guys (laughs). Some of us hadn't seen each other for about a year, but I didn't feel the passage of time at all.
2. I thought I was explaining things because the main character and his father were so quiet (laugh), but I like the feeling of being on the sidelines!
3. The change in Takumi's awareness of running.
4. The battle this time is very powerful!

Anri Katsu / Kenji
1. It seemed like quite a long time since we recorded "Legend 1," and it seemed like no time at all. As in the previous episode, the atmosphere in the studio was basically friendly and enjoyable, but the tense atmosphere during the race scene was something that could only happen in this production. I am very honored to be able to participate again.
2. I think Kenji is relatively decent among the Akina Speedsters (laugh). He is a kind, good-natured guy who loves cars. But he has a strong sense of pride in the team and love for his friends. Although the other members of the Speedsters, except for Takumi, do not have much driving skill, I think their strength is the team's united spirit.
3. The highlight is the racing scene! I think it will be a cool scene physically (I haven't seen the finished version yet), and emotionally it will be worth watching to see how Takumi's attitude toward car competition will change after his awakening in the previous movie.
4. "Initial D Legend 2" is finally coming out! I have been looking forward to seeing it, and I am happy to be able to share the thrill and excitement with everyone who will be able to see it! Please enjoy the thrilling world of "Initial D"!

Marei Uchida as Natsuki Mogi
I thought Natsuki's search for Takumi-kun was cute!
2. I think Natsuki's brightness is wonderful because not much has changed since the last episode. I thought her charm was her girlishness that makes you feel excited when she appears.
The scene where they are competing with each other in the car is very hot again! Even I was on the edge of my seat when I saw Takumi's driving, and I hope you enjoy it!
I hope you enjoy it!
