Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of "F" grossed over 3.1 billion yen in its 19 days of release! The final box-office revenue of the previous film (2.99 billion yen) was exceeded.

The animated film "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F," which opened in theaters on April 18, has grossed over 3.1 billion yen in its 19-day run.

Following "Dragon Ball Z: Gods and Gods," which was released in March 2013 as the first movie version in 17 years, this is the 19th Dragon Ball movie. It is a sequel to the previous "Gods and Gods," and is also notable for being scripted by the original author, Akira Toriyama, himself. The director is Naoki Yamamuro, a long-time animation director for the series, who participated in the previous film as the chief animation director. The cast includes Masako Nozawa, Ryusei Nakao, Koichi Yamadera, Seiichi Morita, Ryo Horikawa, Shoji Sato, Hiromi Tsuru, Mayumi Tanaka, Toshio Furukawa, Takeshi Kusao, Hikaru Midorikawa, and Yuko Minaguchi. The theme song is sung by the idol unit Momoiro Clover Z.

The film was released on April 18 on 653 screens (2D x 325/3D x 300/4DX x 10/IMAX 3D x 18), the largest in Toei's history, and it was revealed that it drew 2,365,000 people during its 19-day run and earned over 3.1 billion yen at the box office. This means that the box-office revenue exceeded the final box-office revenue (2.99 billion yen) of the previous film "Dragon Ball Z: Gods and Gods".

Furthermore, a stage greeting event will be held on May 9, "Goku Day," to thank the film for being a blockbuster hit. Voice actress Masako Nozawa will appear on the day to share the joy with fans. For details, please visit the official website (http://www.dragonball2015.com/news/).
