Summer Anime "Ushio & Tora" Voice Actor Comments Arrive! Rikiya Koyama as Tora: "I feel that Shuo-san (who played Tora in the OVA version) pushed me forward.

Voice actor comments from the TV anime "Ushio-Tora," which will start in July, have been announced.

Ushio-Tora" is an anime work based on the famous manga by Kazuhiro Fujita, which was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Sunday from 1990 to 1996. This is the first TV anime adaptation of the battle story about a boy, Sougetsu Ushio, and a former great monster, Tora, as they try to exterminate monsters. Directed by Satoshi Nishimura of "TRIGUN" and "The First Step" fame, series composition by Toshiki Inoue of "DEATH NOTE" and "Devil May Cry" fame, and character design by Tomoko Mori of "GARO" (guest character design). The theme song is "Mazuru na Hazardous" by Muscle Shoujyo Band.

Voice actor comments have now arrived. Yu Hatanaka, who plays the main character Ushio Sougetsu, welcomed the anime adaptation, saying, "I think it's great that the work is being animated because it directly resonates with us today. I love that kind of protagonist, so I wanted to play it," he said, his eyes shining. Rikiya Koyama, who plays Tora, the character enclosed in the "beast spear" in Ushio's hand, was once told by the late Shuo Otsuka, who played Tora in a previous OVA adaptation, that "men become sexy when they turn 50 and can give a good performance. He commented with determination, "I feel that Shuo-san gave me a push" to play the role of Tora now that he is over 50 years old, continuing his intention.

Mikako Komatsu, who plays Asako Nakamura, said, "When you put your emotions into your performance, if you think you are 100, you have to do it with a vigor of 150. Mayuko is convinced that the happiness of her loved ones is her own happiness, so I want to play the role with that feeling.

A special program will be broadcast on Nico Nico Live from 10:00 p.m. on July 3, just before the start of the broadcast. The four aforementioned cast members will be all together for the free distribution of the first episode and a talk show.
