Free rental of the animated film "Bakemono no ko" and special video DVD will begin on June 17!　at TSUTAYA and GEO.

It was announced that free rental of a special video DVD from the animated film "Bakemono no ko", which will be released on July 11, will begin on June 17.

Bakemono no ko" is the latest work by Mamoru Hosoda, the director of "The Girl Who Leapt Through Time," "Summer Wars," "Wolf Children: Rain and Snow," and other hits in the past three years. This is another original work (director, screenplay, and original story by Mamoru Hosoda) produced by Studio Chizu. Centered on the strange master-disciple relationship between a monster and a boy, the film is an adventure action drama depicting training and adventure in an alternate world inhabited by monsters, epic action set in real Shibuya, parent-child bonds, and a faint romance with the heroine. The cast includes Koji Yakusho, Aoi Miyazaki, Shota Sometani, Suzu Hirose, Kazuhiro Yamaji, Mamoru Miyano, Kappei Yamaguchi, Keishi Nagatsuka, Kumiko Aso, Hana Kuroki, Sumire Moroboshi, Momoka Ono, Masahiko Tsugawa, Lily Frankie, and Hiroshi Oizumi.

In preparation for the film's release on July 11, TSUTAYA and GEO stores will be lending out free rental DVDs containing the special video. The TSUTAYA version focuses on Kuta, while the GEO version focuses on Kumatoru.
