Collaborative screening event with "Ghost in the Shell" and "Knights of Sidonia: Battle of the Ninth Planet" will be held! Talks by the directors of the two films will also be held.

The "Ghost in the Shell" animation movie, which will be released in theaters on June 20, has announced a collaboration event with the TV animation "Knights of Sidonia: The Battle of the Ninth Planet" currently being broadcast.



Ghost in the Shell" is a theatrical anime produced to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the serialization of "Ghost in the Shell," a science fiction work based on the manga published by Masamune Shirow in 1989, which has been adapted for various media and boasts worldwide popularity. The film depicts the secret of the birth of the main character Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body cyborg with super wizard hacker skills, and the origin of the independent unit (=Ghost in the Shell) under the direct control of the Ministry of Home Affairs, led by her. The animation is directed by Kazuya Kise, character design by Kazuya Kise, script by Tow Ubukata, music by Cornelius, director by Kazuya Nomura, chief animation director by Toru Okubo, and produced by Production I.G. From April 2015, a new TV series "Ghost in the Shell ARISE" will begin, which will be connected to this work. ALTERNATIVE ARCHITECTURE" will be broadcast from April 2015, and a live-action movie by Walt Disney Studios will be released on April 14, 2017.

With the release of the movie just around the corner, a collaboration with the TV anime "Knights of Sidonia: Battle for the Ninth Planet" has been decided. The event will be held at TOHO Cinemas Nihonbashi on June 24 as "SF Collaboration Night. At the event, episodes 10 to 12 of "Knights of Sidonia: Battle of the Ninth Planet" (the final episode *previous screening) and the full-length version of "Ghost in the Shell" will be screened, and the staff will also give a talk. Kazuya Kise, general director and character designer, and Tow Ubukata, screenwriter, from "Ghost in the Shell", and Hiroyuki Seshimo, director, and Tsutomu Nibe, author of "Knights of Sidonia: Battle of the Ninth Planet", will be on stage to talk about their science fiction world and its appeal from the creator's unique perspective. Incidentally, Ubukata-san has stated that he is a big fan of Nibei-san's work.
