Theater Animation "Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman" to be Released in October!　An unexpected collaboration between two masterpieces by two masters!

The theatrical anime "Cyborg 009 vs. Devilman" has been announced.

This is the identity of the new "Cyborg 009" anime and thenew "Devilman" anime that we previously reported on. Apparently, they are being produced as a collaborative work. Directed by Jun Kawagoe of "Cyborg 009 THE CYBORG SOLDIER" and "Mazinkaiser SKL," and produced by B-media and Actus, it will be screened at Shinjuku Wald 9 and other venues for two weeks in October.

It will be very interesting to see how the collaboration between Shotaro Ishinomori and Go Nagai, two masters of the Japanese manga world, will turn out. The main visual depicts Shimamura Joe and Devilman, and the special trailer is reminiscent of a fierce battle.

When I was an assistant to Shotaro Ishinomori, I drew the backgrounds for "Cyborg 009. I was asked to do an animation project in which my "Devilman" and "009" would fight each other. At first I feared that the characters would be like oil and water. I was initially concerned that the characters would be like water and oil, but I was surprised when I saw the finished product! The somewhat sentimental and chic "009" and the cool, dry and hard "Devilman" clashed to their heart's content without destroying their respective moods and personalities. The result is an animation that shows the harmony between the two without destroying their respective moods and tastes. I can only thank Director Kawagoe and the rest of the staff and cast for their hard work. I have only seen the first episode, but I was shouting with excitement, "I can't wait to see the rest! I exclaimed excitedly.
