Is Aoi Eir a migratory fish?　A new world of "D'AZUR," the third album completed through relentless challenge

It has been about a year and a half since her last album "AUBE". Aoi Eir's new album is finally completed. The album is the result of singing theme songs for a number of high-profile films from last year to this year, as well as a challenge to new possibilities. D'AZUR" means "blue" in French. The beautiful gradation of the many layers of blue woven through the songs on this album will captivate listeners.

The new album is filled with various "blues"!

─ ─ "D'AZUR" is your first album in about a year and a half since your last album "AUBE. What kind of album did you decide to make this time?

Eir This album is a collection of a wide range of songs that have branched out into various genres from the single trunk of Eir Aoi's music. After releasing several singles after "AUBE," I had a wide variety of songs when I started preparing for the album, and for the new songs for the album, I asked the writers whom I would be working with for the first time. I experienced many new challenges and new encounters.

──Excluding the first instrumental, there are seven new songs for the album. Eir's name is credited as the lyricist for five of them. Was it difficult to add lyrics to a wide variety of songs?

Eir During the production period, I was invited to various events and had many opportunities to go abroad. I was able to complete the lyrics I wrote while traveling, without much trouble, perhaps because the scenery I saw in foreign countries and the people I met inspired me to open up a new world.

─ In recent years, you have been participating in more and more events overseas, haven't you?

EIL I feel that this is a valuable experience for me. Anyway, my heart has become stronger. Now, I don't panic so much when something happens during a live performance, and I don't let my mistakes drag on. I used to be the type of person who would get depressed when I made a mistake, but I have come to realize that it is not good for anyone. I have been able to change my mindset much quicker.

─ ─ What did you put into the title of the album, "D'AZUR"?

Eille The first album "BLAU" means "blue" in German, the second album "AUBE" means "dawn" in French, and this album "D'AZUR" means "my blue" and "your blue" in French. I chose this title to express the meaning of "my blue", "your blue", and "everyone's blue".

─ It seems that various "blues" are gathered together to form one big world, doesn't it?

Eir That's right. Aoi Eir's core worldview is based on serious songs with the image of "seeking the light even in the darkness," but this time I think we were able to develop from there and arrive at various "blues. I hope you will enjoy this new aspect of Eir Aoi.
