The five main cast members, Aimi Tanaka (playing Umaru Tsuchima), Kenji Nojima (playing Taihei Tsuchima), Akira Kageyama (playing Nana Ebina), Haruka Shiraishi (playing Kirie Honba), and Yurina Furukawa (playing Silfinford Tachibana), talk about the highlights and characters.

-Please tell us about your impressions of the work and the highlights of the show.

Aimi Tanaka (playing the role of Umaru Tsuchima)
I read the original story and thought it was a warm work, so I hope I can express Umaru-chan's feelings of love for her brother, which she does not express in words, and her connection with other people. I play the role with the desire to soothe her.

Akira Kageyama (playing the role of Nana Ebina)
The "dried-up sister" feeling of the original work has become even more dynamic in the anime, so I think that is a highlight of the show. I think there are many fans of the original who also like the game and the anime, and I think they can relate to it, so that is also a highlight.

Haruka Shiraishi (Kirie Honba)
By adding voices to each character, I felt that the characters' personalities came out more, as if they had jumped out of the manga. I think everyone will definitely enjoy it.

Yurina Furukawa (as Tachibana Silfinford)
I think the highlight of the show is Umaru-chan's "dried-up sister feeling" and fun worldview, which I think many people can relate to in the work.

Kenji Nojima (played by Taihei Tsuchima)
She is hateful, but I can't hate her, and her sisterliness or "dried-up sisterliness" is very soothing to me (laughs). The use of time in the animation is interesting, and there are many pauses, and I enjoyed playing the role, and I am sure you will enjoy it as well.

-How did you feel when you were chosen for the role?

Aimi Tanaka
I heard the result over the phone, but I was so excited that I said, "Wow! Is it true? I shouted in a loud echoing voice on the stairs of the station (laugh). I was so excited that I went home, but when I went into my room and thought, "I'm going to play Umaru-chan," I suddenly lost all strength and cried.

Light Kageyama
When I heard the result from the manager, I was like, "Are you sure it was me? I thought. Ebina-chan is a modest and gentle girl, and I am more like Umaru-chan at home, so I was really looking forward to recording a scene with such a cute girl. Ebina-chan also speaks in a dialect, so I hope that everyone will enjoy the gap between her reserved and relaxed personality.

Haruka Shiraishi
When I was told about the audition, I read the original story for the first time and went into the audition thinking that I definitely wanted to be a part of this production. When I heard that my audition was "accepted," I couldn't believe it at first. I wanted to deepen Kirie-chan's unique excitement.

Yurina Furukawa
Sylphine is a very cheerful and hardworking girl, and she is my favorite character in the original work, so I was very happy when I was chosen for the role. I am sure that Sylphine will move a lot in the anime, so I am doing my best to express her movements in a fun and strong way.

Kenji Nojima
I was just in the office when the staff told me about it, and I sang "Yay! I sang three cheers for them right then and there (laughs). (laughs). No matter how many years I have been working on this project, I am still very happy. I had wanted to play the role of Umaru-chan's older brother since I read the original work and wanted to see Umaru-chan in action from the time of my audition, so I am very glad that I was able to be a part of Umaru-chan.

-Please tell us about the main points of interest for the character you will play.

Aimi Tanaka.
There are two versions of Umaru-chan: the outer version, which everyone adores, and the Umaru-chan that only her older brother and some other people know. I would like you to pay attention to the innocent cuteness of Umaru-chan. She may look selfish, but she is also surprisingly attentive to the people around her and takes various actions based on her thoughts and feelings.

Akira Kageyama
Ebina-chan is a very kind and pure girl who would never think of hurting anyone, and she is a really good girl. I think her charm lies in the fact that she makes you wonder if she is okay to watch. I also think her dialect is a point of interest.

Haruka Shiraishi
Kirie-chan has sharp eyes and is easily mistaken for a scary person, but she is actually... (laughs). (Laughs) I hope I can express the difference in Kirie-chan's tension well with my voice.

Yurina Furukawa
Sylphine-chan is a unique girl with blue hair and a uniform that she remodeled herself. She is a young lady, so she has a natural tendency to be out of touch with the world, and she is energetic and moves around in various ways.

Kenji Nojima
Although I am her older brother, I am about 8 years older than her, so I am both her father and mother, a complete guardian. He takes care of Umaru-chan and gets angry at her at times, but he also has affection for her as a brother and sister, and that makes him very comforting. Whether or not you find "dried-up sister" cute depends on the older brother, so I think you will like "dried-up sister" even more if you watch the show with him.

Umaru-chan is surrounded by her favorite things at home.

Aimi Tanaka
I am happy when I am surrounded by my cats!
That's why I understand how my brother Taihei feels. Cats heal me.

Light Kageyama
I am addicted to online shopping, so I just end up popping them in (everyone laughs).

Kenji Nojima
He is a bad person (laughs).

Akira Kageyama
When I find clothes or old-fashioned magical girl goods, I tend to snap them up (laughs).

Haruka Shiraishi
I am happiest when I spend time with my toy poodle that I got two years ago. When I play with her, even though she bites me, I can't help but grin. That's exactly like Kirie-chan, in a state where no matter what she does to me, I'm grinning, and it's really cute.

Yurina Furukawa.
I have recently become addicted to Rakugo, and although I have yet to go to a Yose, I watch old videos and recently downloaded an app for Rakugo and listen to it when I go to bed at night.

Kenji Nojima.
I'm not really addicted to Rakugo, but I used to do my reading and dubbing without glasses, but a month or two ago I started wearing glasses, and I can see so well that I can no longer do it without them (laughs).

(laughs) - Do you have a message for those who are looking forward to the program?

Aimi Tanaka
I think it is a work that you can enjoy watching without thinking about anything difficult, so I want to make it a work that you will enjoy after watching it.

Akira Kageyama
Please make sure to have potato chips and Coke on hand, light up the room, and watch it from a distance before the airing time (everyone laughed). I will do my best so that everyone can enjoy it!

Haruka Shiraishi
I think it is a truly healing work. I will do my best to make everyone happy, so please enjoy watching it.

Yurina Furukawa
It is a very gentle and funny work, so I hope it will heal you and make you laugh.

Kenji Nojima
It is a very healing and funny work. There are many small jokes scattered throughout the film, so I hope you will watch it to the smallest detail.
