Gulpan x Oarai Town to display summer tourist attraction posters at JR stations in the Tokyo metropolitan area! Commemorative photo booths and more!
From the anime film "Girls und Panzer the Movie," which will be released on November 21, a summer tourist attraction poster in collaboration with the town of Oarai has been unveiled.
The original anime "Girls und Panzer," directed by Tsutomu Mizushima, depicts a heartwarming story with the theme of beautiful girls and tanks. The realistic depiction of tanks and numerous beautiful girl characters have been highly acclaimed by anime fans and military fans alike. In July 2014, the OVA "Girls und Panzer: This is the real battle of Anzio! was screened in theaters in July 2014, and the first theatrical version of the anime film "Girls und Panzer: The Movie" will be released in theaters on November 21.
This time, a summer tourist attraction poster in collaboration with the town of Oarai has been unveiled. This poster aims to attract summer tourists back to Oarai Town*, where swimming is popular. It depicts characters from Galpan and "Alaippe," the image character of Oarai-cho, and conveys the image of the town as the perfect destination for making summer memories.
Approximately 340 posters will be displayed at JR stations in the Tokyo metropolitan area (Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Gunma, Tochigi, Ibaraki, Fukushima, and Nagano prefectures) for one week from July 9. In addition, banner ads will be placed on Yahoo!
Oarai-cho, Ibaraki Prefecture, a tourist and recreation destination blessed with a mild climate. Known as a marine resort, Oarai is known for its "summer/sea bathing" season. Before the earthquake, however, Oarai boasted the highest number of tourists in the prefecture, approximately 5.6 million per year, but in 2014, the number of visitors was approximately 80% of the pre-disaster level, and the bathing beach was 60% of the pre-disaster level. In order to break through the current situation, posters will be displayed at stations in the East Japan Railway Company (JR East) service area for the first time as part of regional revitalization efforts following the opening of the Ueno Tokyo Line in March 2015.
Incidentally, the TV series will be broadcast for the first time on TV Tokyo, TV Hokkaido, TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting, and Shizuoka Broadcasting starting in July. This will also mark the first terrestrial broadcast in Ibaraki Prefecture, including Oarai Town.
