Fall Anime "Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Fantasy" to air! New hero animation by Seiji Mizushima, Noboru Aikawa and BONES!

Concrete Revolutio - Choujin Gensetsu", a new original anime for the fall season, will be broadcast from October. Directed by Seiji Mizushima, who has worked on "Expelled from Paradise," the script is by Noboru Aikawa, who has worked on "Fullmetal Alchemist," and the animation is produced by Bones.

Concrete Revolutio: Choujin Fantasy" will be a "hero story" based on the theme of a feast of various superheroes that unfolds in "another Japan". The story is as follows

<Introduction
The story takes place in a fictional age called "Shinka," in Japan in the 20-odd years after World War II, a time of rapid growth and development. What if all the "superheroes" depicted in numerous fictional works had actually existed at the same time? The "superhumans" who appear in the film vary widely in birth and characteristics. Some are openly active and popular among the public, while others fight in secret, hiding their true identities. Enemy forces and organizations that oppose the superhumans are also active in the dark.

The Japanese government has taken various steps to ensure order. One of the organizations established is the "Research Institute for Excess Population," an affiliate of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Its common name is the "Choujin Section"-its mission is to discover, secure, protect, and safely manage "choujin. One of the members of the Choujin Section, Hitoyoshi Jiro, is the protagonist of the film.

The main cast includes Kaito Ishikawa as Jiro Hitoyoshi, Sumire Uesaka as the heroine, middle school girl Kikko Hoshino, and Aki Toyosaki as Emi Kino, a core member of the "Choujin Section. In addition, Eriko Nakamura will play the role of Furota, Kenichi Suzumura will play the role of Shibaraito, and Tokua Kawashima will play the role of Hyoma Yoshimura.

Yoshiyuki Ito, who worked on "Space Dandy," is the character designer and chief animation director, and Ito Noizi, known for his work on the "Haruhi Suzumiya" series, is the character designer and concept designer. The staff and cast are quite impressive.

Comments from director Seiji Mizushima, Noboru Aikawa, who wrote the script, and Kaito Ishikawa, who voices the main character, Jiro Hitoyoshi, have also been received. Although details have not been revealed, we hope you can get a sense of the atmosphere of the film from the following comments.

Comment from Seiji Mizushima (director)

Why were there so many heroes that we were crazy about?

When I was talking with Mr. Aikawa almost 10 years ago, we got into such a conversation. We were of the same generation and grew up watching similar programs, but I had never thought about it. Certainly, we watched and enjoyed shows featuring heroes without interruption when we were children. But why were so many heroes produced in that era? We were engrossed in that story until late at night that day.

After a while, Mr. Aikawa came up with a plan, which is the basis of this work. A world where there are many heroes. A world in which there are many heroes, each of them a leading role, like the Avengers of American comic books. The world is very realistic. I found it interesting. I wanted to make this. I wanted to make it. A few years have passed since then, and what has matured in our minds is this
Concrete Revolutio.

The time is ripe.

Noboru Aikawa (original story and screenplay) comments
For me, born in 1965, heroes were in TV from the beginning. There is no distinction between tokusatsu, anime, period dramas, and detective dramas. Sometimes singers and athletes were equal to them.

~Medium~.

If many fictions about heroes contain reality, then to describe them is to describe reality.

It was a fantasy that I had rolled out alone for more than a decade, but in the past few years, with the help of friends who understood, I was finally able to give it a form.

I don't mind if this is my last work. No, this does not mean that I am retiring. I would be very happy if I could continue to create this work for a long time to come and die.

Comment from Kaito Ishikawa (Hitoyoshi Jiro)

--Please tell us about your enthusiasm for playing the role of Jiro Hitoyoshi.

Since there is no original story for this work, I think there are some differences between my image of Jiro and the image of Jiro in the scenario writer and the director. I would like to work with the staff to make the role consistent and unified so that we can share the same image of "this is the kind of person Jiro Hitoyoshi is". I am sure that this will help the audience understand Jiro in a deeper way.

--Please give a message to those who are looking forward to the OA.

Since "Concrete Revolutio" is an original work, you can't predict what will happen next, but that is the same for us. I am looking forward to seeing how I can play the main character, Jiro, and how the story will progress, together with you all, and I will do my best.
