It was also announced that the fifth chapter, "Aishikimonotachihe," will be screened in theaters on February 6, 2016.
The countdown is on to the final chapter! Chapter 4 "From the Memory of Hate" of "Code Geass: Akito the Exiled," which depicts the best mecha action of the series, started showing in 36 screens nationwide on July 4 (Sat). Despite the unfavorable weather conditions, many fans came to see the film at Shinjuku Wald 9 in Tokyo.
The main cast members, including Miyu Irino as Akito Hyuga, Maaya Sakamoto as Leila Markal, and Masaya Matsukaze as Shin Huga Scheing, as well as director Kazuki Akane and producer Yoshitaka Kawaguchi of Sunrise, took the stage for the stage greeting, which was met with loud applause from the audience.
When asked about his impressions of the fourth chapter, Irino replied, "Chapter 3 focused on human relationships and the inner lives of the characters, but Chapter 4 is full of highlights with mecha action scenes that can be described as 'Akane's style' while also including these aspects. He also praised the action scenes unique to "Code Geass" that unfold from the beginning. He also commented on his impression of playing Akito, saying, "Akito's occasional smiles and the more humanized Akito in Chapter 4 must have made everyone in the audience even more moved by the work, which has been developed together with the fans.
When asked about the new song "Arko," which was chosen as the new theme song from Chapter 4, Sakamoto reflected, "'More Than Words,' which was the theme song from Chapters 1 to 3, was a bit heavy and portrayed Akito's melancholy and dark side, The new theme song is a little more hopeful, as Akito himself has changed," he said.
Asked about his impression of the fourth chapter, Matsukaze replied, "It's amazing. It is voluminous, with a lot of story development and information, and it is overflowing the capacity of my heart. The audience laughed at his unique comments on the mecha action, saying, "The explosion scene is great, but the Verkingetorix on the tip of the float system that appeared at the beginning of the movie looks so oleo (laugh).
Director Akane commented on the concept of the mecha action, which was highly praised by the cast, "I worked with the production staff through a process of trial and error in order to fuse the speed of Japanese animation with 3D, which allows the effective use of space. I am quite satisfied with the result. He also spoke enthusiastically about the important "sound," saying, "We made Gatling and other gunfire sounds realistic, and created battle scenes in the theater so that viewers would feel as if sounds were raining down from above, below, right and left. The sound was so powerful that the bass was roaring.
Finally, one by one, the speakers gave messages to the audience. Producer Kawaguchi said, "I am happy that everyone is able to see the film so close to the release of the third chapter in May. Please continue to support "Code Geass: Akito the Exiled" in the future. Director Akane said, "I am grateful that so many people came to see the film. All the staff and cast are working hard to create something interesting for the final chapter, so please look forward to it. Matsukaze added, "As with any other art form, it is not enough to just create a good product, but it is only possible when there are people who understand and support it. I am truly grateful to all of you. Sakamoto said, "In the preview for the final chapter that plays after the main film, there is a scene where Leila is in shambles. I'm looking forward to watching it again and again until chapter 4 to see what the final chapter has in store for me. Irino said, "Since the first chapter, I have always said that this episode is important, but now that I have reached the fourth chapter, I realize that there is no such thing as a wasted line of dialogue or a wasted episode. The greeting session ended with each member expressing their passion for the work.
