Toei Animation produces "Theatrical Live," a combination of a reading play and animation! The first cast includes Junichi Suwabe and Kana Hanazawa

Toei Animation has announced the production of "Theatrical Live," a combination of a theatrical reading and animation.



This is a joint project by Toei Animation, Production I.G., Sammy, and Viracocha. The first production will be a stage adaptation of "Mitsuami no Kamisama" (The God of Mitsuami). Mitsuami no Kamisama" is a manga work by Machiko Today, a highly acclaimed manga artist/illustrator who has won the Tezuka Osamu Manga Award Shinsei Prize, the Japan Cartoonists Society Award Cartoon Division Grand Prize, and other awards in various fields.

The staff includes Katsuyuki Motohiro as overall producer, Fumio Fujisawa as stage and script director, and Masanori Itazu as animation director. Readings will be performed by Junichi Suwabe, Kana Hanazawa, and Yusuke Kobayashi. This will be accompanied by a live sand art performance by Karin Ito and music by Ichiko Aoba.


There will be a total of four performances at Yomiuri Hall on October 24-25. Tickets will be on sale at Ticket Pia from July 9.
