The DVD version of "Yo-Yo-Kai Watch: The Secret of Birth" topped the Oricon charts with 85,000 copies in its first week! The DVD version sold 85,000 copies in its first week, topping Oricon's overall sales chart!　BD version also sold 14,000 copies.

The special price version DVD of the animated film "Yo-Yo-Kai Watch: The Secret of Birth" released on July 8, 2012, topped the Oricon Weekly DVD Ranking on July 20. Special Price Edition DVD, which will be released on July 8, will top the Oricon Weekly DVD Ranking on July 20.

The DVD sold 85,000 copies in its first week of release. This is the first time for a "YOKAI WATCH" series DVD to reach the top position, with the previous record being No. 2 set on November 10, 2014 by the first volume of the DVD box set. It also marked the highest weekly sales of any anime DVD released this year. Incidentally, the BD version, the first in the series to be released at the same time, sold 14,000 copies to rank second overall in BD sales.

Yo-Kai Watch the Movie: The Secret of Birth! was the first theatrical version of "Yokai Watch" to be released nationwide on December 20, 2014, and was a huge hit. On December 19, 2015, the second installment, "Yo-Yo-Kai Watch: Five Stories with Emma the Great! will be released in theaters.
