3DCG film version of "Gamba's Adventure"; Hiroki Kaji plays Gamba!　Sayaka Kanda, who plays Ushioji, also sings a song in the movie for the first time since "Anna and the Snow Queen".

The first cast has been announced for the animated film "GAMBA Gamba and Friends," to be released on October 10.

This is a 3DCG animation film based on the classic children's novel "The Adventurers: Gamba and His 15 Friends," whose TV animation version, "Gamba's Adventure" (1975), is known for its high quality that is hard to believe it was made for children. The film is produced by Shirogumi, the same company that created the outstanding 3DCG animation for the blockbuster hit "STAND BY ME Doraemon," and uses today's most advanced visual technology to depict an epic adventure story in which a group of small mice join forces to fight a giant enemy. It is said to be a major project that took 15 years from conception to completion, took 10 years to produce, and cost 2 billion yen. It has been 24 years since "The Adventures of Gamba and the Otter" was released in 1991. The project is planned and directed by Yoichi Ogawa, vice president of Shirogumi, directed by Tomohiro Kawamura and Takahiro Komori of Shirogumi, and written by Ryota Furusawa, who wrote the script for the live-action film version of "Yosei Zyu.

The first part of the cast has now been released. The hero, Gamba, is played by Hiroki Kaji, and the heroine, Shioji, is played by Sayaka Kanda, who is Chuta's older sister and supports them all with her stout heart. Ms. Kanda is a highly acclaimed voice actress, having created a social phenomenon with her overwhelming acting and singing skills as Anna in the blockbuster hit "Anna and the Snow Queen," and winning the Best Actress Award at the Seiyuyu Awards in 2014. This will be her first attempt at dubbing for a Japanese film, and she will continue to perform songs that are key to the story in the film.

I was nervous and under a lot of pressure to act in a historical work that is well known to everyone, and to work with eminent senior actors, but I enjoyed playing the role. I believe that Gamba and his friends, who are full of a sense of justice and always straightforward, will give children dreams and remind adults of their childhood feelings.

I think Shioji is a heroine who has a strong core and leads everyone with her heart, so I wanted to show not only her cuteness but also her motherly nature. I hope you will watch them as they run around the screen with great effort in the theater.

I had been eyeing Mr. Kaji as a candidate for the role of Gamba since the early stages of the voice actor casting search seven years ago. He has since made his big breakthrough with his role as Eren Jaeger, the main character in "Shin-Geki no Kyojin" and has lived up to our expectations by serving as police chief for a day and appearing as a guest in support of Kohaku (red and white), so we asked him to play the role of Gamba.
Mr. Kanda has steadily trained as a voice actor and honed his singing and acting skills on the musical stage from a young age. I thought that her genuine and genuine nature was perfect for the character of Ushioji, who never forgets to hope based on his strong beliefs. I also decided to offer her the role based on the fact that she is so well known among children that after "Anna and the Snow Queen," there is probably not a child in the world who does not know who she is.
