Noitamina films "Slaughterhouse Organ," "Harmony," and "Empire of the Corpse" set for release! EGOIST will sing the theme songs for all three films.
Noitamina's "Project Itoh," an anime adaptation of the novels by the late Keisuke Ito, has announced the release dates and theme songs for the three anime films.
This project, the second noitamina movie following the blockbuster hit "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass the Movie," is based on the original full-length novels "Slaughterhouse Organ" and "Harmony" by Keisuke Ito, who died prematurely in 2009 at the age of 34, and his 30-page preface, which was written by his close friend, Akutagawa Prize-winning author Enno Yen, who is also known as a novelist. The three novels, "Slaughterhouse" and "Harmony," were written by Akutagawa Prize-winning author Tou Enjou, who is known as a close friend of Keigeki's. The three novels will be made into animation films in succession starting in October.
The release date and theme songs for the three films have been decided: "Empire of the Corpse" (Director: Ryotaro Makihara/Produced by WIT STUDIO) will be released on October 2, "Slaughterhouse Organ" (Director: Shuko Murase/Produced by manglobe) on November 13, and "Harmony" (Director: Takashi Nakamura/Michael Arias/Produced by STUDIO4℃) on December 4: STUDIO4℃) will be released on December 4. The reason for the change in release dates/sequence from the original announcement is due to the fact that "Slaughterhouse", which was scheduled to be released in October, was delayed by one month "in pursuit of a new method of expression".
The theme songs for all three films will be sung by EGOIST, an artist group produced by ryo of supercell that appeared in "Guilty Crown," which aired on Noitamina in 2011. Character visuals were created by redjuice. They also produced the ending theme song for the hit "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass the Movie. The titles are "Door" ("Empire of the Corpse"), "Reloaded" ("Slaughterhouse"), and "Ghost of a smile" ("Harmony"), respectively. The soundtracks will be premiered in the latest video that will be released in the noitaminA slot for three consecutive weeks starting July 16.
Comment from chelly (vocalist of EGOIST)
I heard about [Project Itoh] through a commercial that aired while I was watching "PSYCHO-PASS Psycho-Pass 2" and was surprised that I could be involved. The promotional video with the voice actors' narration was already very atmospheric and engaging, so I was careful not to destroy that atmosphere, but I hope I was able to express it in an EGOIST-like way. Each song has a different type of music, but all of them have a strong message in the melody and lyrics. I am very much looking forward to the film's release in theaters in three consecutive months. I'm really looking forward to seeing the film in theaters for three months in a row. I hope that the audience will be able to enjoy not only the story, but also the special feeling of seeing the film in a movie theater, with all the power and realism of the images and sound. I also hope that you will enjoy EGOIST's music as well.
