Chinese smartwatch with Apple Watch-like design is now on sale.

Akiba Koho" is an irregular column introducing PC parts and digital gadgets that the Akiba Research Institute staff found interesting during interviews.

A Chinese smartwatch with an Apple Watch-like design is now on sale at Toei Radio Department Store.

The new arrival is an unbranded Chinese-made smartwatch featuring a rounded, square-shaped body, digital crown, button layout, and other design features that are reminiscent of the Apple Watch.

However, the digital crown is a camera and there is a SIM card slot (GSM compatible, so it cannot be used in Japan) inside the body, making it a Chinese smartwatch for professionals.

According to the store, the OS is proprietary, and by installing a dedicated app, the watch can be linked to an Android smartphone to receive notifications of e-mails, social networking sites, and other information. It can also display a clock like the Apple Watch.

The main specifications include an on-board display with a 1.54-inch electrostatic touch panel (240 x 240 pixels). Compatible devices are Android devices. Onboard functions include a clock, camera, video recorder, voice recorder, audio player, and video player. Other features include an SD card slot (up to 32GB), SIM card slot (GSM compatible/MicroSIM), Bluetooth 3.0, and Micro USB port. It is available in three colors: black, silver, and gold.

The main unit measures approximately 44.4 x 42 x 12.5 mm and weighs 60 g.

The price is 8,980 yen (tax included). Stock of all of these products is said to be very small, so if you are thinking of purchasing one, please do so as soon as possible!
