Masterpiece robot anime "GaoGaiGar, King of the Braves" to be released on Blu-ray! Two BD-BOXes to be released during the year-end and New Year holidays

The classic anime "GaoGaiGar, King of the Braves" will be adapted to Blu-ray and released in a BD-BOX in two volumes.

The Sunrise-produced robot animation "GaoGaiGar, King of the Braves" was broadcast on TV in 1997 and became a huge hit with its unique characters and mecha, and its over-the-top storyline. The Blu-ray version of the series has been remastered in high-definition using a negative scan of the original film, and the breathtaking battle scenes have been made even more powerful.

The BD-BOX will be released on November 25, 2015 for the first volume containing episodes 1 through 30, and on February 17, 2016 for the second volume containing episodes 31 through 49. The bonus features include a "GGG Record Compendium," a commentary book totaling over 200 pages in both the upper and lower volumes, an audio commentary with newly recorded episodes determined by user popularity votes, a collection of commercials, and a three-sided wraparound box. The commentary book will also include the "Gaoga Yomihon," a set of director's idea memos and other setting materials that were distributed only to a very limited number of staff members at the time of the broadcast, as well as new staff interviews.

The first volume will be priced at 36,000 yen plus tax, and the second volume at 24,000 yen plus tax. The BD-BOX of the OVA "The King of Gaogaigar FINAL" will be released in 2016.
